About Zavida Coffee
What kind of coffee beans is used? Zavida uses 100% Arabica beans sourced from Central and South America, selected for their smooth, rich flavour profile.
What is Swiss Water Process decaf? Swiss Water Process is a 100% chemical-free method of removing caffeine from coffee beans. It uses only pure spring water from British Columbia, Canada. The result is decaf coffee that tastes like real coffee — because it is.
Do you offer whole bean and ground coffee? Yes! Most of Zavida coffees are available as whole beans and ground formats. Select varieties including our Swiss Water Process Decaf and Hazelnut Vanilla Decaf are also available in All Purpose Grind, suitable for drip machines, pour-over, and French press.
Which flavour should I try first? Zavida Hazelnut Vanilla is Zavida's all-time bestseller — it's the perfect starting point. If you love chocolate, try Bavarian Chocolate or Crème Brûlée. For something unique, Irish Cream (non-alcoholic) is a customer favourite.
Is Coffee Arabica or Robusta?
Zavida Coffee is made with 100% Arabica coffee beans. Arabica beans are known for their smoother, more aromatic flavour compared with Robusta, making them a popular choice for premium flavoured coffee.
Zavida uses Arabica beans to create a smooth medium roast that works well for whole bean coffee, ground coffee, espresso machines, French press, drip coffee, pour-over (V60) and iced coffee.

Other Frequently Asked Questions
What is better: Arabica or Robusta Coffee Beans?
Arabica coffee beans are usually better for flavour, while Robusta coffee beans are better for strength and caffeine. Arabica tastes smoother, sweeter, and more aromatic, making it the preferred choice for most premium coffees. Robusta tastes stronger, more bitter, and contains more caffeine, which makes it popular in some espresso blends. Choose Arabica if you want smooth, high-quality coffee. Choose Robusta if you want a stronger, more intense cup with extra caffeine.
What is the name of Emirati Coffee?
Emirati coffee is usually called Arabic coffee or Gahwa.
In Arabic, it is written as:
قهوة عربية — Qahwa Arabiyya
قهوة إماراتية — Qahwa Emiratiya
القهوة الإماراتية — Al Qahwa Al Emiratiya
In the UAE, people often simply say gahwa / qahwa when referring to traditional Emirati Arabic coffee, usually made with lightly roasted coffee beans and cardamom, and served with dates.
What are the four enemies of coffee?
The four enemies of coffee are air, light, heat, and moisture. They cause coffee beans to lose freshness, aroma, and flavour faster. Store coffee in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place, and grind whole coffee beans just before brewing for the best taste.
What is the best coffee for GERD?
People with GERD may tolerate decaf or low-caffeine coffee in small servings better than strong caffeinated coffee, but triggers vary from person to person. Coffee can contribute to acid reflux symptoms in some people, especially when it is very strong, very hot, consumed in large amounts, or drunk on an empty stomach.
The 2-hour coffee rule means waiting about two hours after waking up before drinking coffee. Some people follow this rule because cortisol, a hormone linked to alertness, is naturally higher soon after waking. Waiting may help coffee feel more effective and may reduce jitters for some people.
However, it is not a strict rule. If morning coffee works well for you, you may not need to change your routine.
What are the 12 types of hot coffee?
The 12 popular types of hot coffee are espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, flat white, macchiato, mocha, cortado, piccolo, ristretto, lungo, and filter coffee.
Each one is prepared differently. Espresso is a small, concentrated coffee. Americano is espresso diluted with hot water. Cappuccino, latte, flat white, macchiato, cortado, piccolo, and mocha are espresso-based drinks made with different amounts of milk, foam, or chocolate. Ristretto and lungo are variations of espresso extraction, while filter coffee is brewed by passing hot water through ground coffee.
What are the 4 types of coffee beans?
The 4 main types of coffee beans are Arabica, Robusta, Liberica, and Excelsa. Arabica is the most popular type and is known for its smooth, aromatic flavour. Robusta has a stronger, more bitter taste and contains more caffeine. Liberica has a bold, woody, and sometimes smoky flavour, while Excelsa is known for fruity, tart, and complex notes.
For most coffee drinkers, Arabica coffee beans are the preferred choice because they offer a smoother and more balanced cup
What is a cortado?
A cortado is espresso “cut” with a small amount of steamed milk, usually with little foam.
What is a piccolo?
A piccolo is a smaller, ristretto-based milk coffee, more like a mini latte with light microfoam.
How often should I clean my coffee grinder?
Clean a coffee grinder lightly every 1–2 weeks if you use it daily, and deep clean it about once a month. Oily beans, espresso grinding, and heavy daily use may require more frequent cleaning.
How do I remove a coffee stain from carpet?
Blot the stain with a clean dry cloth. Mix a little dish soap and white vinegar with warm water, then dab the stain gently from the outside in. Rinse by blotting with a damp cloth and dry with a clean towel. Avoid rubbing, as it can spread the stain.
